PegLeg

With the exception of the final step, putting together a v2 PegLeg is actually fairly simple. Here's what we used:

[Hardware]

Raspberry Pi Zero W
Qi Power Receiver (Adafruit #1901 including ferrite shield)
Edimax N150 (EW-7811Un) [Note: it should possible to complete this project without adding an additonal network card. If you can get it working, contact us. Here's a lead.]
2.2mF Capacitor (millifarads, not microfarads) [Note: This is unnecessary if you do not add the second network card.]
In order to complete the next section, you will also need a few accessories: a USB Micro-B cable and power supply, a USB OTG adapter, a USB hub, and a USB ethernet network interface.

[Software Setup]

Install PirateBox onto the MicroSD card you will be using by following the directions listed here.
Connect your unit to the mesh network by following the directions listed here. You're going to need to be connected to the internet for this, so make sure you have the USB hub, ethernet interface, and USB WiFi card connected.
That's it! If you care about branding, shoot us an email and we'll send you a package that will make your unit's web interface and network config match our prototypes. If people are actually interested in this, we'll include it in this guide. Generic SD image coming soon.
Once we have complete software that utilizes the mesh network, we will add that here, as well as directions on how to install it onto an already completed unit.

[Assembly]

In order to minimize the physical footprint this device will have, you are going to want to desolder any unnecessary components, including the camera ribbon connector, Mini HDMI port, and both USB Micro-B ports.
Remove the casing on the USB WiFi card and connect it to the On-The-Go port connections using jumper wires. (Photo/Diagram to come)
Connect the Qi Power Receiver and capacitor to the power USB port connections using jumper wires. (Photo/Diagram to come)
Encapsulate the device in a safe, biocompatible coating. This is one of the two most critical aspects of this project. If you do not have access to adequate materials and equipment to perform this step safely, you'd be better off attaching a battery in place of the Qi coil and constructing a wearable. We accomplished this by having a badass friend named Cassox who has a lot of experience and has done a lot of research in this field. He will be documenting his work that contributed to PegLeg on his website, so keep an eye out for that.

[Installation]

This is the other critical aspect. If you need this section, please seek out someone with the skillset to put this in a human body instead of blindy cutting yourself open. If you do not feel entirely confident in this procedure, please consider turning this device into a wearable.
